Faculty: Hans Dethlefs M.D., Family Physician, OneWorld Clinic, Omaha, NEEdward Zuroweste, M.D., Co-Chief Medical Officer, Migrant Clinicians Network, Austin, TX Description: The purpose of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs is to improve health care by identifying problems, implementing and monitoring corrective action, and studying the effectiveness. It focuses on identifying sub-optimal processes in a business and changing them to reduce defects and improve quality. In medical care, CQI means to improve individual health care; improve systems of care; improve care delivered by individual practitioners; and the continuous education of providers. This webinar will identify common pitfalls health centers encounter related to clinical quality measures and discuss strategies for assessing a health center’s current capacity to engage in meaningful quality improvement. Learning Objectives: As a result of this training event, participants will be able to:
- Describe and understand the core concepts of CQI;
- Discover and utilize commonly used CQI tools and methods; and
- Discuss strategies for assessing a health center’s current capacity to engage in meaningful quality improvement.
